Choosing the Right London Movers for your Relocation to W8

Posted on 18/08/2014

Moving to the West London area with postcode W8, i.e. to Holland Park or Kensington? This is a fine area where you can start a whole new life and enjoy the many opportunities the city has to offer. Before you do that though, you need to relocate – in a smooth, stress-free and time efficient manner. This is the biggest challenge families moving house face these days – how to actually plan the whole process. One of the reasons for that is because people are more movable than ever and therefore there are plenty of options for moving house – DIY, self-move, partial self-move, man-and-van, moving truck, etc. Every option has its own advantages and disadvantages so you need to weigh these pros and cons before you make your decision.

When moving from another city to London, the challenge to find a good London moving company will be significant. You can’t afford to make multiple trips with your own car to the new location and store all the items for days. You need to move within a single trip or maximum two. How do you find such a reliable moving company – a mover you can trust completely with all your belongings and precious possessions? You need to understand that taking the proper time to actually look for a mover is essential. You can’t simply call the first company you see listed on the Internet. Do some research, make a few phone calls and ask for a representative to visit you at the house. This is an important step as that’s the best way to determine the estimate of your shipment and the entire move. If the company simply gives you a quote via the phone, continue your search. No such quote can be precise enough for you to trust the mover.

You need at least four quotes before you make your final decision and actually sing an agreement for the move. Talking and discussing is not a crime – these movers should be able to answer all your questions regarding the house relocation. One of the things to look out for is a mover that doesn’t offer insurance and insists on payment only in cash. These are two sings of a certain rogue mover. Another thing to check for are testimonials from previous clients. It’s something that can tell you a lot about the kind of moving company you are dealing with – their ethics, customer service, fees and especially the hidden costs which they wouldn’t tell you about themselves. It’s a big amount of money that you may end up paying if you are not prepared enough for the moving day and you haven’t done your share properly.

Don’t let a moving company fool you – they all want to make a fortune out of the house moves, even the most reputable and trustworthy ones are in this business to make money.

What you have to know is that it depends on you whether you will have an efficient house move for a reasonable estimate. The choice of a mover for your London relocation is based on your research and will determine the whole moving process. London is a big city and people move every day; there are hundreds of moving companies to choose from so you need to make sure you know how to differentiate between the good and the bad ones.

Cost isn't an issue for me when it comes to searching for movers, since most of the cheaper ones end up cutting corners somewhere else, but with London Removals, I paid a reasonable rate for quality work.
